In order to customise the branding of your eagle.io account, you have the ability to configure your own logos, icons, banner image, and custom URL. This URL is a subdomain of eagle.io; for example if your company is Acme Widgets, you can easily configure a subdomain of acmewidgets.eagle.io. When your customers visit that URL, they will be shown your specific logos, icons, and banner image.
However, if you want to go one step further and use a completely different domain (one that is not a subdomain of eagle.io), this is also possible. The first step is to contact your account manager or support@eagle.io, who can advise you further about this option.
If you wish to proceed with the custom domain option, you may want to use a subdomain of your own existing company domain, or purchase a completely new domain for this purpose. In either case, you will need to delegate name resolution of the new domain to eagle.io in order for us to finish the configuration. To do this, the new domain must have the following 4 name servers applied:
ns-1051.awsdns-03.org.
ns-1684.awsdns-18.co.uk.
ns-911.awsdns-49.net.
ns-334.awsdns-41.com.
To confirm that the name servers have been configured correctly for your new domain, use the nslookup command (which is usually available on the terminal of any Windows, Mac or Linux computer). The following example looks up the name servers for the eagle.io domain:
C:\>nslookup -type=soa eagle.io
Non-authoritative answer:
eagle.io
primary name server = ns-334.awsdns-41.com
responsible mail addr = awsdns-hostmaster.amazon.com
serial = 1
refresh = 7200 (2 hours)
retry = 900 (15 mins)
expire = 1209600 (14 days)
default TTL = 86400 (1 day)
C:\>
Note that the primary name server is one of the 4 name servers previously listed. Once your configure the 4 name servers on your own custom domain, and confirm that one of those name servers is listed by the nslookup command, contact support@eagle.io who will then complete the required configuration.
